Mission & vision
Free a Girl fights the sexual exploitation of children. Every child has the right to grow up in a safe environment, and all the world’s children must be protected against every form of sexual exploitation.
Free a Girl’s core values
- Action-oriented. We take action to prevent and fight the sexual exploitation of minors. We focus more on action, less on words.
- Results-oriented. We are a professional organization with objectives that we strive to achieve. This is something we also expect from our partners.
- We are open about how we work and our operational management. Figures, facts and activities are recorded each year in the annual report, which is published on the website.
- Free a Girl USA is a small organization with global ambitions. We can respond more quickly than other organizations, and we dare to tackle the problem in a progressive way.
Free a Girl rescues minor girls from sexual exploitation around the world. We have freed more than 6,500 survivors to date. We help survivors to achieve justice by tracking down the perpetrators and tackling impunity. When they’ve had time to heal, Free a Girl empowers the girls to become awareness-raising Watch dogs and Change Agents in their communities. Our School for Justice program trains survivors to become the best lawyers, paralegals, police officers, social workers and journalists, to change the system from within.
Free a Girl (USA) runs programs in India, Nepal, China, Laos, Tanzania, Ukraine, the Netherlands and Brazil.
